Ocean Springs Environmental Alliance to Offer an Evening of Learning with Wildlife Mississippi.Wildlife Mississippi is one of the very active organizations in Mississippi to conserve, protect and increase the pleasures of Mississippi’s beautiful lands and waters. The Ocean Springs Environmental Alliance (OSEA) invites you to attend a program featuring Robert Smith, Coastal Program Coordinator for Wildlife Mississippi. A sought-after speaker, Smith, a Certified Wildlife Biologist and Registered Forester, will speak on his work with management of wildlife, timber, agriculture, nature based recreation, and other topics that impact land and habitat.
The event is set for Thursday, November 20, at the Mary C Cultural Center in Ocean Springs, 6 p.m. for wine & cheese, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. for the program.
Wildlife Mississippi, organized in 1998 and headquartered in Stoneville, Mississippi is a multi-faceted group whose mission is “to conserve Mississippi’s lands, waters and natural heritage in order to sustain a clean environment and a healthy economy”. Among its active programs are working with farmers to improve profitability, conservation projects on the Pearl River and Wolf River, restoration of longleaf pine forests, restoration of bottomland hardwoods and wetlands, construction of nature trails and free seed distribution for the grown of native wildflowers.
OSEA is “a group of citizens committed to the stewardship of our natural resources for the benefit of current and future generations.
