Happy Orval Day!Orval Day honors the story of the Orval Trappist Monastery and the original "Brett" beer. Legend states that in 1070 AD Princess Matilda trailed her fingers in a spring and lost her ring. She knelt to pray and promised if her ring was returned, she would gift the land to build a monastery. Sure enough, a trout came swimming up with her ring. Matilda named the land "valley of gold", or Orval, and donated it to the church.
