The ORRC Turkey Trot at the Zoo is great for the whole family. Based on participant feedback, we’ve made many improvements for 2024. You can run or walk the course, which we’ve shortened to 5 km. You’ll start at The Oregon Zoo, then head out on Kingston Drive toward the International Rose Garden, then return to finish inside the zoo at the Elephant Plaza. We offer two Kids events, the Tot Trot, for those 0-4 years old, and the Gobble Gallop, for those 5 through 10 years old. Approximately $25,000 of registration fees benefit The Oregon Zoo.

Please register early to ensure your entry (and better pricing)!
2) What you receive:
Every entrant in the 5K and kids events receive a cozy beanie hat and chocolate turkey.
We’ll have adult-sized beanies and kid-sized beanies. The ORRC Turkey Trot beanie is forest green with gold and orange stripes, new for 2024! The kids beanie is similar but slightly different in color scheme.
At the finish line we’ll also have fruit, water, donuts, and a bagel bar.
Gobble Gallop and Tot Trot kids receive a special commemorative ribbon and goodies.
3) Pumpkin pie raffle
As before, participants have a chance to win one of 150 large pumpkin pies. These will be randomly awarded to 150 registrants. Check your bib to see if you’re a winner. If you win a pie, we encourage you claim it early. Check in with the volunteer, claim your pie, put your name on it, and pick it up by 9 am.
4) T-shirts for sale
You can opt to buy a long-sleeved T-shirt when you register.
Deadline to order shirts is November 1, 2024 (it’s a simple add on in the checkout process in RunSignUp).
5) Updated course
The new course is a 5K route (previously was 4 miles).
We will not provide aid stations. Please bring appropriate hydration should you need it. Please note: The concession stands at the zoo will be closed! There will be no opportunity to purchase food or drinks, including coffee, from the zoo. If you need coffee, please bring some with you!
6) Public Transportation strongly encouraged
