About this Event
Orlando Whitfield launches his sensational account of his life as an art dealer, and the rise and fall of his friendship with infamous dealer Inigo Philbrick, in a conversation with Talk Art star Russell Tovey.
Whitfield first meets Inigo Philbrick when they are students dreaming of dealing art for a living. Across their fifteen year friendship they rise to the highest echelons of the contemporary art world. Until one day, Inigo - by then the most successful dealer of his generation - disappears, accused of a fraud that rocks the art world to its core. A hugely-anticipated memoir of greed and ambition, All That Glitters is a wild and deeply personal story that strikes at the heart of the contemporary art world.
Orlando Whitfield graduated from Goldsmiths University in 2009. He started dealing art while still a student, and worked in and around the art market for fifteen years. His writing has appeared in the Paris Review and the White Review. All That Glitters is his first book.
Russell Tovey is an actor best-known for appearing in The History Boys, Years and Years, Being Human, The Good Liar, HBO’s Looking and ITV’s The Sister and American Horror Story. He is also a passionate art collector, with more than 300 pieces, and a judge for the prestigious Turner Prize 2021.
This event will be followed by an audience Q&A and book signing. Doors open from 6:30pm.
