About this Event
Hey Orlando!
A huge thank you DLR Group for generously hosting this event.
In 2026, sustainability in commercial design has officially moved past awareness. The urgency is clear. The terminology is everywhere. The gap is execution.
Design teams are being asked in reality and existentially to navigate carbon reduction, human health considerations, material transparency, reuse, and circularity - often under tight timelines, fixed budgets, and inconsistent client expectations. Some firms are just beginning. Some firms have not yet started. Many firms have implemented baseline sustainability strategies, and are now asking harder questions: How do we go further? What actually moves the needle? And how do we do this without overcomplicating the process?
This session focuses on practical, real-world sustainability implementation - not theory.
Moderated by Material Bank’s EVP Sustainability Rebecca Best, join this dynamic roundtable conversation to discuss how sustainability is being executed on live commercial interior projects today. Your peers will share what’s working, where friction still exists, and how teams are aligning internally and externally to drive progress.
The core takeaway is simple: small, repeatable actions across projects compound into collective impact.
Optional Part 2 (second CEU): The session then shifts from conversation to application. Attendees will be introduced to a common materials framework that simplifies sustainable material research and specification. With their own laptops, attendees can access the sustainability search filters on Material Bank, applying this framework to build a material palette with impact - demonstrating how better decisions can be made with intention, faster.
Material Bank's Design You impact Education Series is designed to turn conversation into collaboration - building momentum behind shared goals, streamlining decision-making, and accelerating the shift toward healthier, more sustainable materials across the built environment.
