The Team:
DJ Vibes
An Old Skool Legend who needs no introduction.
It all started as a Pirate Radio DJ on Elite FM back in 1989 broadcasting all over Essex & Kent. Bookings came rolling in and the venues and events became bigger when he met Errol Remo in 1992 who made a life-changing introduction to another legend in Wishdokta.
Following the AA release of 'Sing it Loud' & 'Music's so wonderful' alongside Wishdokta, they went on to release 35+ including many Big tracks and Remixes.
30 years on and Vibes has DJ'd all over the world and still out there on the circuit loving and laughing!
We can't wait to welcome him to Origins on 8th June!
MC Fearless
When it’s Fearless on the mic, his unique tone and flow distinguishes him from his peers. He’s been in the game from the beginning and literally been there, seen it and done it all. Fearless started MCing in the sound system circuit, MCing to Ragga and Rare Groove. After he first heard Acid House Fearless connected to a DJ outfit called The Brainkillers & DJ Red Ant who had their own show on pirate radio station, Innocent FM. It was here where he started to hone his skills.
1993 was the year time he came to the attention of legendary Drum & Bass outfit AWOL. Teaming up with great friend MC GQ, they went on to host the seminal nights at the Paradise Club. The culture at AWOL was one that resonated with Fearless. It was simply about fun, community and the shared experience of dancing all night to some serious fresh dubs dropped by the DJ’s. It really was A Way of Life.
Bone
Back in school in the early 90’s Bone fell for his passion in drum and bass music. His inspiration was from the tape packs from all the raves which made him love the style, jungle DnB. After leaving school he got his first set of technics 1210’s and took to them like a duck in water. In no time he was on many pirate radio stations i.e. Charge, Cyndicut and Lush just to name a few.
He then teamed up with one of the biggest names in Drum and Bass (MC Fearless) called Team Bulletproof. After a few years he decided to put his all into production…..
After touring the UK for many years, he took a break after the birth of his first child and now he is back with a vengeance! It’s safe to say he is one to look out for on the circuit.
DJ Miley
Started Mixing in the late 80's - hardcore/jungle in the early 90's on pirate radio - was one of the first DJ's to bring UKG to Essex on pirate radio.
Now Director of Funky SX 103.7FM Legal Dance music radio across Essex/Kent and on DAB in Scotland. Host of various radio shows - notably Old Skool hardcore and upfront Drum and Bass on a Wednesday morning from 8am on FunkySX 103.7FM.
Jay Crucial
A diverse multi-genre DJ with a big passion for Old Skool Rave, Hardcore, Jungle & DnB.
Jay Crucial is regularly booked to play at a brand called Rave Days at XOYO, warming up for legends such as Micky Finn. In 2022 he won the Slip Back In Time (Slipmatt’s Brand) MixFactor 2022 and played in Es Paradis Ibiza, in 2023.
Jay Crucial is LIVE on FunkySX every Wednesday from 6:30pm.
Recap
In the early 90’s his love for Hardcore and Drum & Bass developed from searching out Pirate Radio stations on his HiFi. A frequent visitor to Brick House Records, buying vinyl with wages from a Saturday job see his mixing abilities develop and begin to play on various Essex Pirate stations. Predominently a House / Rave House DJ, nowadays, but you can often catch Recap cutting up Old Skool Breakbeats on FunkySX Radio cover shows.
