Come learn some new origami projects at Trinity! Our Origami Group meets at 3:00 PM on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month to practice old designs and learn new ones.
The Japanese art of origami combines precision and creativity, geometry and art, focused mindfulness with relaxed mindlessness. Plus a friendly team of fellow folders.
Come try out a new skill!
(Note: We meet in Classroom 207 - When you come in the front door, head toward the right and keep going back to the very end of the hall. Last classroom on the right.)

Some comments from leaders and members of the group:
"In the past, people have asked me why I got started in origami. The truth is I really don't know. My best guess is that it is cultural. Since it has been an integral part of Japanese culture for hundreds of years, I was fascinated by it, the challenge, and what it could accomplish." -- Ken Sugawara
"It's nice having a refuge from the news blast of the day. The meditative act of paper folding along with cheerful conversation is like going back and making kites out of the Sunday "funny papers" with my Dad...something precious that's forgotten" -- Pat Bussinger
"I've always been intrigued by origami. I tried to do some origami on my own and was never very successful. I always admired the flowers Ken made for the church visitors. Then several years ago Ken
offered a class in origami. I attended and what do you know. Ken made the origami understandable, enjoyable and fun. I like all the folding we do, especially modular items. Meeting twice a month as a group to do origami together helps staying up with the folding and helping each other" ---Sue Osterberg
"When I was young child, I used to check out books from the library. I wasn't a very successful folder but many years later, I was fortunate to meet Ken at Trinity and receive one of the small lilies he gave out to the visitors at church. I mentioned to him that I would love to learn and when he said that he would teach a class, the rest is history and I was hooked." --- Claire Lux
