Don’t miss this fantastic weekend of three Victorian Championship events, right after Easter. With a larger number of interstaters expected to stay on, let’s show them which state is the best, by getting as many Victorians as possible competing! The Anzac Weekend features three days of unrivalled orienteering:
Friday 25 April – Victorian Short Distance Championships, Andersons Diggings, Dunolly
Saturday 26 April – Victorian Middle Distance Championships, Wehla Hill (near Kooyoora)
Sunday 27 April – Victorian Long Distance Championships, Mt Korong
The maps are equal in quality to those selected for Easter. Courses have been planned by a who’s who of Victorian orienteering – Jim Russell, Aston Key, and Neil Barr. Excitement guaranteed!
Kick off with the Vic Shorts – two short distance races with a chasing start in the afternoon, on gravel pit terrain adjacent to open, fast spur gully. Information and online entry
Move onto the Vic Middle – featuring the same dramatic granite as Kooyoora, minus the heavier vegetation. Information and online entry
Finish on a high at the Vic Long – an extension of the wonderful Korong Spur map; Victoria’s best kept orienteering secret is now large enough to showcase to a larger audience. Information and online entry
All three events will be catered by the delicious offerings of My Cake Kitchen – enjoy their sandwiches, rolls, wraps, salads, cakes and coffee.
Entries are open on Eventor. Closing date is Friday 4 April. Late entries accepted until Friday 11 April at an extra cost.
