Established October 9th, 1845 we are the oldest working Masonic Lodge in Chicago under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Illinois. Our rich history mirrors that of Chicago. We are proud to count many of Chicago's founders as members.

In 1867, Oriental Lodge # 33 constructed its first Masonic Temple at 122 Lasalle Street. The history of our lodge includes rising from the ashes of the Great Chicago Fire in 1871, which destroyed our lodge building and many artifacts. In the true spirit of the "city of broad shoulders", members of Oriental re-built the lodge hall only a year after the fire consumed most of Chicago. Our tradition continues to this day.

New visitors or those seeking information on Freemasonry should reach out to Jan Garth at: [email protected]
