Music of resilience and transformation - colourful, stunning contemporary choral musicThe Oriana Chorale presents exciting voices in the contemporary choral scene, including New York composer Caroline Shaw’s gorgeous Ochre. By turns mysterious, expressive and emotional, Ochre reflects on our relationship with the Earth and the wondrous processes that occur within it. Oriana’s Emerging Composer in Residence Aija Draguns’ Leaves receives its world premiere. Luke Byrne’s Desert Sea brings alive the transformation of Kati Thanda / Lake Eyre. while Dan Walker’s To A Child vividly sets the poetry of Judith Wright, bringing the Australian landscape to life.
This music is inspired by wonder at the power of nature, chemistry and time. It is also a testament to human growth, resilience, and our relationship with our landscape. Join us for this celebration of geology, our landscape, and incredible new choral music.
