About this Event
Organize Elk Grove, a local and volunteer-led group, welcomes Amanda Scott and Jencie Ferraro of EG SPEAKS and SELPA Director Anne Rigali to speak about how threats to IDEA, FAPE, and disability inclusion impact everyone involved in education settings. DEI must include disability justice!
At 6:00, meet up for coffee, wine, pizza, or pastries from our local cafe and connection with fellow progressives.
At 6:30, learn from our hosts how we can:
- Increase our knowledge of education funding and engage in local issues that have community-wide impacts.
- Examine the intersectionality of disability and the barriers ableism creates for us all.
- Learn how to prioritize disability justice issues as a path to address all issues marginilized communities face.
After the talk, we'll have a facilitated discussion and Q&A.
Feel free to bring craft supplies to share or to meet your own fidget needs--all are welcome here! And please donate to support both ASATTCI and EG SPEAKS.
