About this Event
Join us for an inspiring day with urban farmer and TOPP mentee, Patrice Clark, as she shares her journey of transitioning to organic at Emerald Roots Farm Collective and building collaborations with other farmers. From rebuilding soil health to diversifying crop production, urban beekeeping, navigating organic certification, and water conservation, Patrice is a force to be reckoned with. Enjoy a scavenger hunt around her farm and explore the benefits of cooperative models through Patrice's partnership with Nitty Gritty Acres and Little Lighthouse Farm.
This event is hosted by the ASU Swette Center for Sustainable Food Systems as part of the Arizona Transition to Organic Partnership Program (AZ TOPP) - an initiative to support food producers and handlers across the state in transitioning to organic with mentorship, technical assistance, workforce development, and community building.
Lunch is included. We hope to see you there!
This event is supported by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program. TOPP is a nationwide program of the USDA Organic Transition Initiative and is administered by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP).
