In this Exhibition Junko explores the variety of interactions which happen in everyday life. It could be a brief conversation with a stranger at a bus stop, it could be a silent connection with nature, perhaps the first bond with a new born baby or it could be a memory brought back by a distant aroma. Those conversations all add together to create the rich tapestry of life.
Junko Kitamura was born in Kyoto, Japan in 1980. In 2004 she completed a degree in printmaking with high standing at the Kyoto Seiko University. During this time Kitamura was invited internationally to participate in Print-making and textile workshops in both Austria and Canberra. Whilst still studying, Junko’s artwork was nominated for display at the Kyoto Museum Exhibition and was then selected for the MASUO IKEDA Exhibition for printmaking.
Junko has exhibited many times since coming to WA and Won many Awards including, The City of Melville Art Award "Works on Paper", Deloitte Spring Rose Art show "People Choice Award" and Open Mind Open doors Art exhibition "Special Commendation", City of Gosnells Art Award "Works on Paper".
This time, she showcases the collection of her watercolor works.
