The last concert this year in the Soil and The Seed Project's free ORDINARY TIME CONCERT SERIES will be on Sept. 28 at 6:30pm. The concert features Ears to the Ground Family, a minimal, totally acoustic group with guitar, hand percussion, and banjo. They have a serious focus on lyrical content and sometimes achieve a body-shivering vocal harmony. They make music of resistance to oppression and empire, of communities of hope, and of a faith that sustains. The evening will also feature a special announcement and celebration of a new season in the life of The Soil and The Seed Project! We will celebrate what God has done and the work that God has set before us for the next several years. There will be a time of blessing as we celebrate the project’s transition from being a ministry of VMMissions to a distinct non-profit organization working in partnership with VMMissions and the broader church. Fall treats and cider will be provided. Come join us as both organizations celebrate God’s faithfulness together!
The event is for KIDS, FAMILIES, and EVERYONE seeking a beautiful place to listen to beautiful music that helps us all recognize God in the ordinary. (In the church calendar year, Ordinary Time is the season between Pentecost and Advent.) Bring lawn chairs, blankets, a picnic dinner (as you wish), and lots of friends to share the evening with in the serene natural beauty of the amphitheater at the Brethren & Mennonite Heritage Center.
