Witness the Carnegie Hall debut of Louis Langrée—a conductor especially beloved in New York for his 21-year tenure as music director of Mostly Mozart—as he leads one of the city’s great ensembles: Orchestra of St. Luke’s (OSL). The concert opens with a pair of exciting firsts, including the Carnegie Hall premiere of Valerie Coleman’s Fanfare for Uncommon Times, commissioned and originally premiered by the ensemble in 2021. Haydn’s Cello Concerto No. 2 in D Major follows, shining a welcome spotlight on Sterling Elliott. Previously an OSL member, Elliott is now a prominent, award-winning cellist, and this performance marks his debut as a soloist with the ensemble.
