About this Event
Our small orchard at Macclesfield Riverside Park needs maintaining to keep the Apple and Pear trees that we planted a few years ago healthy and bearing lots of fruit for the locals and wildlife alike.
This year local community group Macc Wild, who have been providing local schools with free orchard trees, will be joining us at Riverside to help us prune the trees. We will be pooling our knowledge to teach others the correct way to prune Apple and Pear trees.
During the morning, we are also going to develop the orchard further by planting some wild flower plugs amongst the trees to increase the biodiversity and encourage more beneficial insects into the area.
