It is that time of year again! As a member-owned cooperative, we hold a yearly gathering with Orca's staff, the board of directors, and consumer members where we talk about the state of the cooperative, both in a business sense and in a social sense. We will give you a run down of the day-to-day goings on at the store, and we want to hear from you about any thoughts/ideas/suggestions that you have for us. Orca has over 1,000 consumer members! We need about 25 people to show up to these meetings for us to reach quorum (as per the bylaws, which you can read right here on this website if you feel so inclined). And I heard a rumor that there might be some limited edition stickers and/or other goodies for those who can make it to the meeting.
Join us for our first off-site Member Meeting on Sunday September 14th at 6:00PM for snacks, drinks, mingling, and a catch up about the state of the cooperative. We'll be at Squaxin Park at the beautiful Rose Garden shelter to enjoy the last days of summer and spend time with our co-op community. Bring a sharable snack if you feel able! We did not spring for the alcohol license at Squaxin for this year, but we will come equipped with bubbly bevs in many flavors.
