Tragically, over 3,000 Australians lose their lives to suicide every year. These people are our family, friends and loved ones.
Join us to walk for World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10) to remember those we’ve lost to suicide, and raise awareness. You can walk to remember a loved one, as a personal tribute for a friend or family member, or to show your support for Australians experiencing emotional distress or mental illness.
Through connection, compassion and hope, we will unite to raise awareness, overcome stigma and commit to preventing further deaths by suicide.
Together, we will ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
Our Walks in the Central West:
DUBBO | 3km walk starting at Dubbo office on Brisbane St at 6am and returning for coffee and croissants
ORANGE | 2-3km walk starting 7am at the Blue Tree in Pilcher Park and walking to the Academy Café for a coffee, continuing onwards to an 8am BBQ breakfast, provided by Orange Region Suicide Prevention Network, in Elephant Park
BATHURST | 2.5km walk starting 5.40am at Peace Park (near the playground), walk the path around the river and join us for a coffee at The Brew Drive Thru.
KATOOMBA | 2km walk starting 6am at Echo Point in Katoomba and finishing with a coffee. Also 6pm charity movie screening 'Just a Farmer' @ The Edge Cinema.
MUDGEE | 5:40am Gather in park at corner of Short Street & Ulan Road. Walk departs along the Sculpture Trail towards Loy Avenue. We will hold a commemoration as sun rises at "Gathering Sculpture" and walk together to Muffin Break for a coffee. Everyone is encouraged to stay & chat.
