Unpacking Oracy: Enhancing Literacy Practices through Intentional Implementation
Please join us on Tuesday, December 2, 2024 for dinner and an evening of literacy. This literacy workshop is the second in the series that unpacks the Illinois Comprehensive Literacy Plan. This plan has identified 7 Pillars of Literacy Instruction. The focus of this session is on Oracy.
Presenters: Dr. Kari Pawl & Dr. Annette VanAken
Professors at Concordia University Chicago
In this interactive presentation, participants will enhance their understanding of oracy and explore ways to integrate new approaches with existing literacy practices. The session will introduce strategies to help educators intentionally incorporate oracy as a key learning component, while effectively mapping it within their schedules, structures, lessons, and even unstructured moments.
