OPUN MIC NIGHT is a gathering of curious minds to wordplay, improv, write, share creative work, and meet new people in a casual, 'low-stakes' environment.
This free community event is about having fun, not (necessarily) being funny!
Our THEME for October is Halloween--or more specifically, Hello-weird ...
<h4>How does Austin keep it weird with costumes and performances that go beyond the typical spooky tropes?</h4>Maybe you make like the ghost of Matthew McConaughey in "Dazed and Confused" and wear "all white, all white, all white."
Perhaps you donn a hot pink apron and blonde wig as a brisket-braising Barbie-Q.
Or how 'bout you dress as a saintly nun with roller skates as a Holy Roller Derby girl?
Puns, outfits, and work shared on theme are always encouraged and not required.
There are 3 Phases to the evening -- show up for one or all!
