#OptOutside this year with Skagit Land Trust! #OptOutside is a movement designed to get families outdoors on Black Friday instead of spending all day shopping.
SLT Member and expert birders Libby Mills and Tim Manns will lead us on a birding walk on Samish Island. This guided walk will move at a leisurely pace through approximately 1.5 miles of wooded trails, including a stop at a beach where we will look for waterfowl that may be near shore while the tide is high.
Samish Island is home to 100+ year-old forests that provides nesting, roosting, perching, and foraging habitat for a variety of raptors such as the Bald Eagle, Osprey, Cooper’s Hawk, and owls, as well as migratory song birds.
Space is limited, so please RSVP to secure your spot! Location and directions will be sent to registrants via email.
Please note: This event is rain or shine, so please bring warm clothes, raingear, and waterproof shoes. Please also bring a water bottle and sun protection if needed. COVID masks are welcome but not required.
