UPDATE
Here’s some additional information about Operation Turkey Austin.
The time shown for preparation on Nov. 26 is from 8am to 8pm. However, you do not have to (nor expected to) stay for this entire length of time. Just show up when you can and lend a hand.
The meal deliveries will take place on Thanksgiving day. I don’t have information on this yet and will post any updates as I get them.
Here’s some more information on what type of help is needed:

Operation Turkey goal is to deliver dinners to those less fortunate in the Austin area on Thanksgiving day. It started in 2000 when Richard Bagdonas handed out just 1 meal from his home. Every year it expanded throughout Austin and across the country. In 2023 Operation Turkey delivered more than 62,000 meals in 22 cities and 7 states with more than 35,000 volunteers.
This year there will be 2 main events:
1\. On the day before Thanksgiving\, a Austin Turkey Tailgate event will take place at Dave & Buster's Austin \(located at 9333 Research Blvd Service Rd \#A600\, Austin\, 78759\) from 8am \- 8pm\. The purpose of this event will be to smoke turkeys and make preparations for the meals served on Thanksgiving Day\.
2\. The second event will take place on Thanksgiving Day when the meals will be delivered to those in need\. There are many ways to help out and when you register you'll be able to select how you would like to help\, such as setup\, cooking\, packaging\, and delivery drivers\.
To participate in either of these two events please register with Operation Turkey using this link:
