Operation: Salt & Steel
The Battle for the Canso Causeway
The stalemate has hardened into a full-scale confrontation.
After the events of Operation: Island Independence, neither faction was able to secure total victory. Each side claimed one objective, leaving the Canso Causeway contested and unresolved. That failure to decide the fight has carried real consequences into this next phase of the campaign.
This event will focus on one major engagement:
The Battle for the Canso Causeway.
Unlike previous operations, this game will not be split across multiple unrelated missions. The entire event centers on the struggle for control of the Causeway, and the winner of this match will have a major impact on the ongoing campaign narrative.
Campaign Effects from the Last Operation
During the previous battle, the Island Guard attempted to fortify their positions by securing construction materials. However, they failed to recover at least 3 of the 5 concrete supply bags required to complete their defenses.
As a result, the following campaign modifiers will be in effect for this operation:
Canadian Reserves
–30 seconds to respawn time
Represents improved logistics, organization, and reinforced supply lines
Island Guard
+30 seconds to respawn time
Represents weakened fortifications, supply shortages, and disrupted preparation
These modifiers will remain active for the duration of the Causeway battle and are a direct consequence of the previous operation’s outcome.
Stakes
There are no small victories in this operation.
Control of the Causeway will determine:
Which faction gains momentum moving forward
How future objectives are structured
The strategic direction of the campaign as it continues
There will be no narrative reset at the end of the day.
What happens here matters.
Hold the line—or break it
