Operation Merriment: Capsules of ConnectionA hands-on experience where you create and spread guerrilla joy in unexpected places.
💌 Step 1: Gather & Create – We meet in the IKEA café to make “capsules of connection” filled with affirmations, doodles, kindness notes, jokes, or little treasures.
🚀 Step 2: Deploy the Joy – We wander through the store, secretly planting our capsules inside furniture displays and setups for future customers to find.
💬 Step 3: Reflect & Connect – Share stories, celebrate what we’ve done, and leave feeling sneakily generous and delightfully subversive.

We’re turning IKEA into a joy-scavenger hunt for strangers.
đź“Ť Meet at the Food Court (2nd floor)
We'll spend the first 90 minutes crafting our capsules together, then use the last half hour to walk around the showroom and place them inside drawers, pouches, mugs, and little hidden spots throughout the store.
All materials provided! Capsules, papers, prompts, washi tape, pens, stickers, and more.
🎒 Want to bring your own capsule?
You're welcome to pre-make some at home or bring containers to use!
Ideas: plastic eggs, pill bottles, pencil pouches, tiny jars, origami boxes, glasses cases, floppy disks, film canisters, and anything with a lid or secret compartment.
