Enjoy a delightful afternoon of food, wine and song featuring the stars of Opera San Jose while helping fund SJWC's Scholarship ProgramCelebrate 130 years of empowering women and supporting the arts and the community at San Jose Woman’s Club annual Opera with the Stars Gala Luncheon, which is making its first return following the COVID interruption. All proceeds benefit the SJWC Scholarship Fund, which has provided more than $100,000 in vocal and academic scholarships to San Jose State University students.
Enjoy an elegant luncheon (vegan available) at a themed Opera table, live performances by exceptional Resident Artists from Opera San Jose, enhanced by the acoustics of our beautiful, landmark Clubhouse, and a silent auction of exclusive experiences and fabulous gift baskets. Don't have time for lunch? Come for just dessert and the concert! Whether you attend or not, you can dedicate an aria in honor or memory of a special someone.
This event is more than a fundraiser. It’s a celebration of art and resilience. We are still here in our 130th year, and we can’t wait for this party to honor some of the women who have made that possible, including Jeanne McCann, who is a past President of SJWC and was instrumental in founding and supporting Opera San Jose, and Betty Ann Chandler, a 107-year-old SJWC member who joined the Club in the 1940s, after graduating from San Jose State University with a Bachelor in Education.
