This concert launches the Bangkok Youth Opera - a youth-run opera group by Thai music students from high schools and conservatories both in Thailand and abroad founded in 2021. Our vision is to encourage, empower and provide a platform for fellow young talents by organising small-scale full opera productions and concerts. It is independent from all institutions and establishments.
Celebrating the UNESCO status of the library, with many nations presented in song by performers from Thailand, UNESCO council member Darren Lee Royston as Master of Ceremonies, will add some staging and choreography. This will be an entertaining event of a variety of styles and stories bringing the library alive in musical melodies.
This concert is also held in the purpose of fundraising for the Bangkok Youth Opera's upcoming production of Rossini's La Cambiale di Matrimonio (The Wedding Contract), planned for September 2023.
