About this Event

Residents of the Lillian Wald Houses and Lower East Side neighbors have been working towards taking down a fence around an underutilized grassy area and designing a vibrant public space in their NYCHA development.

Join us for a groundbreaking event and long-awaited fence takedown on the upcoming community space with residents and local leaders. Free RSVP, open to the public.

Opening the Edge is a project of the Design Trust for Public Space, in partnership with the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and Davies Toews Architecture; proposed by Artist Jane Greengold. Learn more about the history of the project and our supporters here.
