Be one of the first to see this traveling exhibit highlighting the US Army’s 23rd Headquarters Special Troops—more commonly known as the “Ghost Army”—a top-secret unit that waged war using inflatable tanks and vehicles, fake radio traffic, sound effects, and even phony generals. The unit’s carefully selected members–artists, fashion designers, illustrators, sound engineers, and soldiers, armed with nothing heavier than a .50-caliber machine gun—saved thousands of lives and played an important part in securing Allied victory in World War II.The exhibition is organized by The National WWII Museum and presented by the E.L. Wiegand Foundation. Additional local support provided by Veterans United Foundation.
