Inspired by a poem which translates to Afternoon of a Fawn, it spotlights the fine first flute of the Philharmonic. Next, experience firsthand the then (1924) controversial pantomime by Bartok, The Miraculous Mandarin Suite. The evening finishes with Brahms’ only Violin Concerto, considered one of the greatest of all time, featuring the talented soloist James Ehnes.
