Join us for the closing exhibition of the Hayside winter program — a bold and beautiful celebration of contemporary ceramics and experimental form.
Making Friends is a group ceramic sculpture exhibition featuring works by some of Perth’s most exciting emerging and established ceramic artists. These are not your average sculpture — this is clay at its most expressive, raw, and alive.
Each piece in the show has passed through the unpredictability of making: warped edges, glaze drips, accidental collapses, and unexpected magic. This is a show about surrendering to process — and letting the material lead.
Featuring works by:
Joana Partyka · Nirrimi Firebrace · Emma Lindegaard · FDO Studio · Loh Ceramic · SWIIRL STUDIO · Moana · Diane Keating
Set in the heart of Subiaco, the exhibition explores what happens when control gives way to collaboration — between artist, object, fire, and chance.
Alongside Making Friends, Our Folk presents Formed (August 6–30) — a curated exhibition of contemporary jewellery by emerging and established local artists. The installation blends wax, metal, and wearable forms to explore themes of value, labour, and narrative through material play. Featuring one-of-a-kind, ethically crafted pieces in precious metals, Formed spans the spectrum from fine, minimalist design to bold, sculptural statements — all grounded in the rich creative landscape of Western Australia’s jewellery community.
This show is produced and curated By Shiloh Blondel (Happy Hub Collective) and presented by SPACEMRKT with support from the City of Subiaco.
