Simian is pleased to invite you to the opening of two solo exhibitions by Cyprien Gaillard and Lea Porsager, both presented in collaboration with Yonder, Art•Science.
Désespoir des Singes is the first major exhibition in Denmark by French artist Cyprien Gaillard. The works tie in with the artist’s ongoing investigation into the entanglement of nature and culture, creation and destruction, as well as the shifting relationships between past and present. They trace how human movement and civilization leave material and visual residues across landscapes and objects.
Lea Porsager’s exhibition …and snEEzE unfolds as a speculative environment of optical diffractions, polarized ice cores, and repellent materials. Drawing on quantum physics, tantric technologies, and feminist thought, the works inhabits different collapsing time-scales: Glacial time, space-time, and psychic time.

Simian er stolte over at invitere til åbningen af to nye soloudstillinger med Cyprien Gaillard og Lea Porsager, begge i samarbejde med Yonder, Art•Science.
Désespoir des Singes er den franske kunstner Cyprien Gaillards første solopræsentation i Danmark. Værkerne i udstillingen indgår i kunstnerens igangværende undersøgelse af forholdet mellem natur og kultur, skabelse og destruktion og de skiftende relationer mellem fortid og nutid. Udstillingen kortlægger, hvordan mennesker og civilisationer efterlader materielle og visuelle spor i landskaber og objekter.
Lea Porsagers udstilling …and snEEzE udfolder sig som et spekulativt miljø af optiske brydninger, polariserede iskerner og genstridige materialer. Med udgangspunkt i kvantefysik, tantriske teknikker og feministisk tænkning bevæger værkerne sig inden for forskellige, sammenfaldende tidsskalaer: geologisk tid, rum-tid og psykisk tid.
