Remai Modern is pleased to welcome members and the public to celebrate the opening of two new artist commissions presented as part of the multi-year project Carried by rivers, held by lands:
Joi T. Arcand: ᐯᐦᐯᔭᐠ ᐆᒥᓯ ᐃᓯ ᐁᐊᑎᐦᑌᑭ ᑕᑿᐦᐃᒥᓈᓇ (pêh-pêyak ômisi isi ê-atihtêki takwahiminâna)

Join us for an evening of art, community, and music. In addition to the openings, the night will feature a performance by HYPERFEMME GALACTICA, an experimental sound and video performance by Mahlet Cuff that uses the medium of DJing as a site to consider how the dancefloor can be transformed into an incubator for dreaming. This performance is presented as part of the Gathering the Great Plains program.

7–9 PM Public Preview including brief remarks in the Riverview Room, Level 2, followed by a performance by HYPERFEMME GALACTICA
This event is held in conjunction with Gathering the Great Plains, co-organized by Remai Modern, the Indigenous Curatorial Collective, and MacKenzie Art Gallery. Guests will also be able to view the exhibition Great Plains Series: Points of Return – Spaces of Departure in Marquee Gallery, Level 3.
