Open Your Heart - Candlelit Sound Bath Experience Tune into the healing vibration of love, compassion and forgiveness in this deeply immersive candlelit sound bath experience.
About this Event

Join us at MindfulPPL for this 90 minute heart opening experience to help soothe the heart and lean into self-forgiveness.

Bianca and Carina are coming together to blend the sounds of crystal singing bowls, which can provide a felt sense of safety to the body and nervous system, and the cello, which helps support individuals to connect with themselves and deeper emotion.

The cello is said to be the closest instrument to the human voice. This feature gives it the power to instinctually evoke emotions; allowing us to access and release what might be stagnant and no longer serving us.

What to expect:

  • Intention setting
  • Guided meditation / Sound Immersion (60 min)
  • Reflection / Journaling
  • Open for group sharing

What is a Sound Bath?

Sound has been used for thousands of years across various cultures as one of the first healing modalities, and often practiced in community.

A sound bath is a nourishing (sonic) massage for the nervous system. Combining sound and mediation, practitioners use different therapeutic instruments to help promote desired states like relaxation, deepened self-awareness and energetic harmony.

How does sound therapy work?

Through a process called entrainment, the sound received during a sound bath can help to shift our brain state - moving from a more alert and anxious state to one that is more relaxed and calm. Entrainment is the process of two different rhythmic patterns (i.e. instrument and brain) syncing up so they become harmonious.

So when we use specific instruments - i.e. crystal singing bowls which have a single sustained drone-like sound - the brain and body start to harmonize with the sound, allowing it to settle and enter a state of greater calm.

BTW: If you find meditating challenging, many individuals find sound baths a great mindful alternative :)

About Your Facilitators:

Bianca Lee is a certified sound therapy practitioner, trauma-informed wellness facilitator and DJ passionate about helping humans understand, explore and nurture their relationship with their inner world.

With a background in sound therapy, trauma studies and therapeutic expressive arts, Bianca has a special interest in working with sounds and deeply connective practices to support individuals who experience anxiety and overwhelm.

In 2019 Bianca quit her decade-long corporate career as an award-winning communicator to pursue her creative passions of DJing and producing wellness experiences full-time. For most of her corporate career she experienced debilitating anxiety and became relentlessly dedicated to understanding her energy and inner world through psychotherapeutic, spiritual and energetic practices. In 2020 she made the decision to go back to school to deepen her understanding of trauma and the nervous system, and this road led her towards studying the therapeutic potential of the arts.

After spending over 7 years DJing both locally and internationally for clients like YouTube, Bumble, Elevate Tech Fest, Toronto International Film Festival, Pitbull’s Globalization and more, Bianca felt called to explore the therapeutic nature of sound and music.

Bianca continues to innovate in the therapeutic sound and music space facilitating sold-out sound bath experiences across Toronto, and offering sound wellness programs for workplaces, conferences, festivals and more.

Bianca has been invited to speak about her journey via organizations like TEDxYouth, Fuckup Nights Hamilton, and Women of Influence and is thrilled to continue supporting humans create the space needed for bold transformation and inner flourishing.
