Come share a cream tea and find out about a new LGBTQIA+ Christian community in Lincolnshire.St John's Church, Ermine, will be starting a monthly ecumenical Holy Communion service in autumn. It will be a safe space for LGBTQIA+ people and their allies to meet, worship God, follow Jesus, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
The intersectionality between religion, sexual orientation and gender identity is often difficult to belong to. We are often excluded from religious rites, leadership roles, and even forced out of some communities for simply being us. Our Open Table will remove these barriers to faith.
Our community consultation launch event will aim to:
• Discover what the LGBTQIA+ community in Lincolnshire wants this Open Table to be.
• Recruit people to lead Lincoln's Open Table.
• Discover talent within the community to contribute to God's work.
• Have some fun and enjoy some scones 😋
