Smack in the middle of our Grand Opening Celebration Weekend is our second Open Mic Saturday at The Groove Theater. The universe responded last month and we were delighted to be at capacity with nearly 50 people, something like 18 acts. Monthly Open Mics now on Saturdays at The Groove Theater on Grove Ave. in Prescott. Hosted by Morgan Cooper and Andy Hofer (previously hosted at Earth and Herbs Arizona on South Montezuma St. as Open Mic Sundays -- Our thanks and gratitude to Angie Garatto for hosting us during our first year).
This is the open mic that you should come to even if you've never performed in front of others before. People come to listen, and while you'll be able to get a cup of coffee, you won't be competing with background noise of conversation and bottles clinking.
Bring your music, your art, readings or writings to share, or just come to enjoy what others bring! We've had some amazing musicians show up over the past months and some have become regulars.
Which brings us to our new location, which we've decided to name "The Groove Theater" because we see all kinds of music, art and theatrical events and workshops coming here in the near future. We've been gifted with an amazing, 100+ year-old brick house on Grove Ave., where we are already providing music lessons (piano and bass so far, guitar and percussion workshops coming soon).
