This is themed Open mIc
Concept Note by artist :
“The idea stems from the stories I have read in
my childhood which talk about mythological creatures. In it I center my effort on the creation
of such creatures that are found in real life. The project aims to be a criticism of the polluting
power of man. At the same time it is a song to nature in its persistent attempt to assimilate
that reality. In "toxic evolution" I evoke the struggle between nature and modern artificial toxic
agents that come from human waste which has resulted in body deformation resulting in
having a physical appearance being very similar to the creatures we only read as fictitious
creatures. Like the one-eyed goat born in Orissa two-headed snakes born in Uttarakhand
and many more areas and limbless lion cubs in Gujarat. All are specifically results of chemical dis-balance in nature. These animals (perhaps located in the near future) will play at being in a middle ground between the possible and the impossible the real and the imaginary the graceful and the devious. Their strange morphology is the result of contamination that causes uncontrollable genetic mutations. They are ultimately fictitious victims of the caprice and irresponsibility of modern man as is the real case of so many endangered species today”
*The invitation: *
To help us make sense of a world awash in oil plastics and toxic chemicals
To know the impacts of the spill entanglement and toxicity
To feel it in our bones along with our heart and mind
We need much more than statistics
More than dry artificial intelligence
More than sympathy and apathy
This is a call for emotion and action
This kind of knowing can only happen with the help of artists and poets
Note:
These ‘fabric painting pastes’ are a revolutionary product developed by ColorAshram that unleashes the potential of the brush and the artist to express in natural colors. Currently there is no such product available freely in the market to paint on fabrics that is washable and wearable!
We also offer a set of natural watercolours for people to paint on canvas and watercolor paper.
The colors are made from plants and minerals only that are safe bio-degradable and do not pollute the air water soil or human skin.
An Unexplored Mic is a Chennai-based organization. We organize Open mic events for Poetry and Storytelling. We started our journey in MARCH - 2020 till now we conducted 29 Open mics (Live). We don't conduct online open mics. So our aim is to explore all our India with our Unexplored Mic and bring amateur artists to the stage to express their thoughts in a form of words. Not all the time we get a MIC to express our words and emotions.
We try our best to feature your performance. There is a time limit for every performance that is 5- 7 mins due to time constraints.
