Our Open Mic Nights are all genre- play an instrument, sing a song, perform a dance, share your poetry or spoken word, or do a standup routine, whatever sparks joy! A Seat at the Table Books is a safe space and supportive environment for all, regardless if you're a beginning or have been perfecting your art for years. Our Open Mics are also an all-ages event, so please adjust content as needed for any minors.
Are you an audience member and just interested in listening? Well, believe it or not, you play a vital role! The performer depends on you to know how they're doing, so offer snaps, claps, or murmurs of encouragement whenever you feel moved by their performance! You may even be inspired to perform yourself!
