Our feature this week is Ashia Ajani coming to us online!
Ashia Ajani (they/she) is a sunshower, a glass bead, a carnivorous plant, an overripe nectarine hailing from Denver, CO, Queen City of the Plains and the unceded territory of the Cheyenne, Ute and Arapahoe peoples, now living in the Bay Area, unceded Ohlone land. Ajani's words have been featured in Sierra, Atmos, Transition Magazine, Lithub & others. She is the author of one collection of poetry, Heirloom (Write Bloody Publishing, 2023) and a forthcoming collection of lyric essays, Tending the Vines (Timber Press, TBA). Their writing is a kaleidoscope of their work as an eco-griot & abolitionist.
