VILNIUS TECH Faculty of Architecture kindly invites to the Open lecture "Landscape Urbanism" by Peter Swyngedauw (OMGEVING, Belgium) on 9 September 18:00.The city... it is hurried, time is precious, encounters are rare, nature has often disappeared... yet European cities are increasingly becoming the place to be. At the same time, we are facing more extreme weather conditions with growing periods of heat, increasingly heavy rainfall and ever-increasing space for mobility.
As a progressive and constructive response to these observations, OMGEVING, through its managing director and creative director, presents its vision of how we should build our city of the future. In this lecture on “Landscape Urbanism”, Peter Swyngedauw illustrates how landscape as a basis, backbone and guideline leads to better, more liveable and, above all, robust and future-proof cities.
The vision is illustrated on the basis of several concrete projects in various locations in Europe and across different design scales.
