About this Event

How do we learn from community and stakeholder engagement over time?

When planning a project or programme, it is difficult to find out what engagement has already been done in an area, and what was learned from it. If we were able to find out about the key issues and ideas for the future that have come out of earlier engagement, we would be able to build on that learning and make more effective use of participants’ time.

Developing a platform for sharing ideas to emerge from engagement would enable more cross-sectoral learning. We would also be able to learn more effectively across sectors. For example, what can health and wellbeing practitioners learn from community engagement around the environment and local nature – and vice versa?

Join us to explore:

• What tools and approaches are already working for you?

• What would you want to see in new a platform?

• How might you use it?

• What are the possible risks and barriers?

• How might these be overcome?

Outcomes from these workshops will feed into a bid to develop a platform, with the aim of going for funding in 2023.

More about the project:

A project team from the School of Environment, Education and Development at The University of Manchester, Future Everything, Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, University of Bangor and University of Glasgow are exploring the potential for developing an open digital platform for collecting and sharing data. The aim it so make analysis easy and intuitive for a range of practitioners to be able to quickly and easily make sense of their data. This will form part of a suite of resources to support people in planning, running and making sense of effective workshops and engagement programmes.

This project has emerged from decades of engagement with stakeholders through the development and deployment of Ketso. Ketso is a powerful graphical project engagement tool, used for pan-discipline group engagement in project planning and problem solving.

These events will use Ketso as a tool for engagement, and offer a networking opportunity, bringing together practitioners from multiple sectors, all of whom have an interest in deepening our learning from engagement, some of whom have used Ketso for decades, some who are new to the tool.
