About this Event
Join us at Open Kitchen Cafe & Bar for a five course vegan sustainable taster menu evening!
Open Kitchen are thrilled to be hosting an event inspired by their motto: sustainable - ethical - delicious. The evening will explore an aspect of sustainability in the most delicious way possible.
The event is held in partnership with the Kindling Trust, a Greater Manchester based charity producing and lobbying for local, seasonal, sustainably produced fruit and veg.
The evening will offer guests a five course taster menu created around local, organic, seasonal and sustainably produced vegetables and fruits from Kindling’s Woodbank Farm, based in Stockport. Open Kitchen Exec Chef, David Amesbury and Head Chef, Sean Lee have worked closely with Kindling growers to create a menu that showcases the North West’s most beautiful local produce, demonstrating how truly tasty a local, seasonal “plot to plate” ethos can be.
The evening will kick off at 6.30pm with an opportunity to relax and buy drinks from our selection of sustainably produced wines and local independent beers (ethical soft drinks also available).
As part of the evening, Chris (a director of the Kindling Trust) and Aoife (head grower at Kindling Market Garden) will offer a short talk to inform and engage guests around the benefits and difficulties of sustainable production. The Kindling Trust have a 3 acre farm at Woodbank in Stockport, just 7 miles from Open Kitchen’s flagship city centre cafe and bar, and are one of Open Kitchen’s range of local, ethical, sustainable, small-scale producers.
