About this Event
The Open Gov Hub would like to welcome the Washington DC community to our office to celebrate our 10th Anniversary.
The celebration will include remarks from open government champions, lightening talks from Open Gov Hub Member Organizations, and an opportunity to meet and connect with friends/colleagues both new and old over great food and drinks.
It was an idea that came up one day in 2011 between a few friends working in the open government space. “We work in the same space, so why not BE in the same space?”
At the beginning, of October 2012, 13 organizations were the first members of the Open Gov Hub. Seven of the thirteen original members are members to this day (see their logos below).
Today, the Open Gov Hub is an extensive physical location, home to roughly 70 organizations working on improving government transparency, accountability, and civic participation. We continue to grow not only in terms of space or members, but also in terms of the impact by working together to empower citizens around the world.
Join us in celebrating our 10th Anniversary on the evening of Thursday, October 27th. Activities, trivia, and of course great food will be had!
