The Bun House will be opening their gates to the public for the first time ever in this once off, open garden weekend to raise funds for Under the Willow Tree Rescue.https://www.facebook.com/underthewillowtreerescue
For the gardeners: Our garden is a 1400 square meter, organic permaculture paradise. We have almost 100 fruit and nut trees, bushes and vines in our food forest, including a wide range of exotic and tropical species like custard apples, sugar cane, goji berries, peanut butter tree, loofah, cassava, a whole hedge of different guavas, acerola cherries, sunchokes, yacon and many more.
We've got ducks, frog ponds and quenda; rainwater collection systems, compost bins, veggie gardens, wicking beds, summer heat mitigation systems, and so much more.
We use natural pest control, make our own mulches and fertilisers, and all organic material is composted and recycled on site to create a closed loop, self sustaining system. We will be running garden tours to explain how it all works.
For the bunny enthusiasts: If you've ever wondered how we manage to grow enough food for two humans PLUS 20 rabbits, wanted to see how we fit so many animals in the house, or how we deal with all the poop - now's your chance! We will be on site all weekend to answer any and all questions.
WHEN:
10am - 3pm, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th of October.

PARKING:
Limited street parking is available, or you can park around the corner at Brown Park and walk across through the easement.
If you have mobility requirements please send us a message for disabled parking parking.
Please note: unfortunately, most of our paths are mulched and are not wheelchair friendly.
ENTRY FEE:
Entry fee is $5, with proceeds going to Under the Willow Tree. Cash or card payment will be available on the day.
Kids under 10 are free.
