About this Event

Artist-Curator Candice Nembhard invites Afro-Caribbean/West Indian individuals to join them for an open day at Eastside Projects where attendees will be asked to bring archival materials to be housed in the exhibition Portals. Materials might include photographs, books, records, clothes, household objects and heirlooms.

These items will remain in the gallery space for the duration of the show and speak to the wider need for collective archiving through objects, discussion, and care. This is a gathering space and a loving space. All are welcome to attend, with Afro-Caribbean/West Indian communities prioritised.

The gallery will be open for donated items from 12-6pm, with a celebration event from 6-7:30pm.

Tickets are available in hourly slots, where you are welcome to come in to donate your items within that hour. With this ticket, you are automatically invited to the gathering event in the evening. We will also put tickets for people who want to attend the evening event separately.

If you have any questions please contact [email protected].
