Free Programme of events
Our open day is an opportunity to visit the Burnley Centre, find out about what the centre offers and to connect with an experience of inner peace. There will be a programme of events for those wishing to learn about the centre and its events. The schedule has been drawn up to answer many of the questions that people have about meditation & Buddhism and to see what it’s all about.
Our World Peace Cafe will be open all day serving a selection of speciality teas and coffees. It is an oasis of peace in the centre of Burnley.
For those curious about meditation, there will be a couple of meditation taster sessions while if you are interested in Buddhist imagery and art, there will be a chance to find out about the symbolism behind it, learning about the Buddha images that we have in our meditation room.

Meditation Taster 10.30am – 10.50am
Try a simple meditation to clear and calm the mind
Ancient Images 11.10am – 11.30am
Learn about ancient Buddhist images and their symbolism
We also have a new addition in the shrine to reveal!
Modern Buddhism 11.50am – 12.10pm
How does a Buddhist path of inner peace fit with modern life?
Meditation Taster 12.20pm – 12.40pm
Try a simple meditation to clear and calm the mind
Children’s Meditation class 2pm – 3pm (£3 charge per child)
Following the free events there is the monthly children’s meditation class which is the first Saturday of the month from 2 to 3pm this is £3 per child.
