to let other people know you're attending, to be able to participate in the event chat, and have opportunities to connect with other attendees you may meet at the event. Bloom RSVP does not reserve you a spot at the potluck.

Come gather and share stories and experiences of non-monogamy, relationships, and community; Whether you're simply curious, attending to support a friend/partner, or if you are actively practicing some form of non-monogamy. Experience with non monogamy is not required to attend.

This is a large event space, so we will have capacity for 30 people. Tickets required.

ACCESSIBILITY

Two story home. Two small steps to get inside. One step to get outside to yard. Upstairs room for small breakouts and additional bathroom in the master bedroom are optional.

PETS

There are no pets. Well behaved service animals are welcome.

WHEN ARE THINGS HAPPENING?

If this is your first event, arriving on time is essential so you can attend opening circle. If you will be late and miss opening circle, we prefer you reschedule for a future visit. If you have attended before and will be late, let a host or other attendees know so that we can expect you later.

7:00pm - 8:00pm: Socializing and Potluck Food Time
8:00pm - 8:15pm Opening Circle - Rules, Topic
8:15pm - 9:15pm: Small group discussion time - Break into small groups to share thoughts on the topic or choose your own.
9:15pm - 9:30pm: Closing Circle - Share your thoughts and experiences with the larger group.
9:30pm - 10:00pm: Freestyle socializing

DISCUSSION TOPICS

Idealized non monogamy and the dangers of comparison.

Acknowledging that every person and relationship has different needs, wants, desires, and are at different places in their journey. What works for you doesn't work for everyone else and vice versa.

Rules, agreements, and boudarines - How they can help us, handicap us, how they can flow and change over time as you experience your journey in non-monogamy

How does a growth mindset fit into all of this?

((What is a growth mindset?)) - Believing that a person's abilities aren't innate but can be improved through effort, learning, and persistence. A growth mindset is all about the attitude with which a person faces challenges, how they process failures, and how they adapt and evolve as a result

POTLUCK FOOD

This is a dinnertime potluck event, so bring food/drinks to share.

Your potluck contribution can be home cooked or take out. All options are much preferred to 5 different types of chips and dip, so please check the potluck sign up before grabbing your food. If you want a challenge, there are usually people attending who would appreciate some Gluten Free or Low Sugar foods. Wholesome filling foods are always great.

PARKING

Street parking. Please do not park on the driveway

DRINKING/SMOKING

Alcohol is OK in moderation and BYOB. Cannabis is OK outside, as long as anyone else outside is okay with that. Drinking and smoking are not the focus of the event, but they are allowed. No other drugs. No smoking or vaping of cigarettes/nicotine/tobacco are allowed on the property, if you have need please take a walk down the street to smoke elsewhere.

Everything shared in this group should be treated as confidential and private.

Do not share stories that are not yours and name other individuals without their permission.

Do not greet people outside of this group in a manner that would out them.

CONVERSATIONAL CONSENT

Be aware of your audience and limit voyeuristic sharing of explicit personal stories such as sex, kink, or BDSM. Oversharing of these categories may make others uncomfortable or feel unwelcome in the space.

CONSENT AND BOUNDARIES

You may see people hugging, kissing, and cuddling at this event. Don't assume what someone does with others is wanted with everyone. Always ask before entering someone's personal space.

No Hard cruising - Flirting with everyone of a certain type, asking for contact info or a date right away without mutual interest—that's a big no. It's great to get to know people, but don't be pushy. That energy isn't welcome here.

HOLDING SPACE FOR EACH OTHER
If you feel comfortable doing so, hold space for each other. Holding space means letting others share their truth, without assumptions, judgment, unwanted advice, or trying to fix things. Sometimes, this is the only pace for a person to just be, and to express what they are going through.

MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANIZER

The template for these open relationship community discussion potlucks do not belong to me. I'm honestly not sure who started them, but the lore I've pieced together over the years is that they were started 30+ years ago in the east bay.

Regarding tickets: I used to organize these events for free as a volunteer, and repeatedly experienced organizer burnout. Fellow organizers encouraged me to ask for donations or charge for tickets, and it was the right call. There's a lot of time, energy, and emotional labor involved, especially when delicate, difficult conversations need to happen. Posting and managing a single event often takes up multiple hours of my time beyond the event itself.

That said, if the cost of a ticket means you can't attend, get a free ticket. In the promo box type in "FREE" and the total cost of the shiny golden ticket will be $0. No questions asked.

And on the other end of the spectrum, if you want to thank me for what I do in monetary form, any donations beyond the ticket price will be graciously accepted.
