If you are tempted to see what all the fuss is about then why not book on and give it a go! Have you started open water swimming over the warmer months and plan to continue over the winter but not sure how to go about things?
You can never have enough knowledge when it comes to swimming in cold water. The health benefits of being in cold water are huge, but you have to know how to go about doing things in a sensible, safe way.
AIM OF THE SESSION
This session will last approximately 2 hours and aims to provide you with the information so you will be able to swim safely in the colder months.
The session will start with a whole group talk of the do's and don'ts and equipment you may need. How to overcome cold water shock, signs of hypothermia, exiting safely and learning about the after drop.
There will be a supervised swim after the talk.
The length of time in the water will depend on the temperature.
All swimmers will be required to get changed together so you can be observed at all times.
Emails are sent out after the session recapping some of the information.
This is a great opportunity to experience the benefits of this amazing activity and meet like minded people. Open water swimmers are a friendly bunch.
