Join both Grove of the Ancient River Coven & Wyoming Valley CUUPS for our join open in-person Beltane ritual!!Beltane is the first of the Fire Festivals. In Ireland in the old days, the hearth fires would all be put out and then relit from the central fire of Ireland. The torches bearing flame from the central fire carried both the practical benefits of fire for warmth, cooking and forging and the spiritual ones: transformation, strength, the spark of life. We will share a Beltane celebration including a Maypole Dance. Please feel free to bring hand percussion if you would like to play drums during the dance or afterward.
If the weather is good, this will be an outdoor ritual. In the event of (lots of) rain, we will take our spiritual practice indoors.
Arrive between 4:45-5:00 PM
Ritual will start promptly at 5:10 PM
After ritual, we will gather for the Potluck. Please either keep ingredient list or label all offerings with the included ingredients to allow those with dietary restrictions to make healthy choices for themselves.
After foods, we can then share a drum circle around the fire. A drum circle is a celebration of life, community, and music-making in the moment. Please bring hand drums, shakers and other hand percussion. A few small percussion instruments will be available if you do not have your own.
