Join your fellow Balboa enthusiasts for an open practice session!
Bring your dancing shoes, burning questions and enthusiasm.
We'll have ideas to work on at each practice, and there will be experienced dancers there to help facilitate.
*You must be comfortable with basic upholds and downhold basics when you arrive, there will not be any instruction on basic footwork at these practices.
Schedule:
3:00pm - We will have a short class for those of you looking to learn something new! Topic TBD based on who shows up and what they want to learn.
Participation in the class is totally optional; if you would prefer to practice on your own or with a small group while the class is taking place, please do so quietly.
3:30pm - Open Practice time until 4:30pm
Location: Anvil Centre Dance Studio - Room 415 (4th floor)
777 Columbia St, New Westminster - right across from New West Skytrain station.
Cost:
$10 per person, or pay what you can; no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
Cash or E-transfer to [email protected].
Secret Balboa Club has partnered with Uptown Swing Collective for these practices.
Shoes:
We ask that you bring indoor-only dance shoes. Please check that your shoes do not have black on the soles/heels, as this will mark the floor.
Health and Safety Policy:
Please stay home if you are not feeling well.
We expect everyone will do their part to keep our community safe and healthy by maintaining good hygiene with regular hand-washing, and being mindful that comfort levels will vary from person to person.
Mask-wearing is optional; please be considerate of others’ decision to mask or not, and if you would like to dance with someone who is wearing a mask, please offer to wear a mask yourself, as a courtesy to them.
