The story: Two aging vaudevillians, Willie Clark and Al Lewis, once a celebrated comedy team known as “The Sunshine Boys,” have not spoken in over a decade after a bitter split. Now, in the early 1970s, Willie is struggling to find work and slipping into decline when his nephew, an agent, persuades him to reunite with Al for a television special.
